Professional Fees CHM fees vary depending upon the background, training, and degree of the health professional that is providing the care and therapy. Dr. Lawton's fees and services vary by the state within which he is practicing and what his licensure is within that state. Dr. Lawton is a licensed chiropractor in Michigan, a licensed naprapath in Illinois, a certified acupuncturist in Idaho, a member of the Idaho Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and a certified member of the American Medical Massage Association and the American Manual Medicine Association. He is a diplomate of the International Association of Medical Acupuncture and the American Manual Medicine Association. Dr. Lawton will provide special financial fee consideration under the following circumstances: 1. Compassion discounts with financial documentation. 2. Sliding scale with documentation of special financial needs. 3. No charge for patients with very serious documented medical conditions or those dealing with a potentially terminal illness. 4. No charge for the children of accepted patients. 5. Discounts for patients requiring multiple therapy visits per week. 6. Discounts for patients 65 and older. 7. Discounts for patients receiving general elective preventative treatments as opposed to treatment for serious and/or complicated medical conditions. 8. Discounts for patients seeing Dr. Lawton and then receiving free treatment from Blue Heron Academy student interns. It is the mission of CHM to treat every patient fairly and to deal with all patients with complete financial honesty. CHM is not currently processing health or medical insurance but will provide patients with a standard superbill so that they can apply for insurance reimbursement from their insurance carrier. Dr. Lawton works closely with and is a trainer for students of the Blue Heron Academy engaged in internships in massage therapy, acupressure, holistic health care, and personal training. Student treatments and services are provided at no charge. To receive free student treatments all patients must receive an evaluation to determine the need and character of the treatment provided to them.
